Emergency First Aid at Work – Course Information

The emergency First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry that want or need to become an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace. This qualification complies with the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations, 1991 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982.

The course consists of a one day (6 hour) course and topics covered include the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, assessing an incident,recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness and assisting a person who is suffering from injury and illness. The qualification is assessed throughout the course through questions and practical demonstrations.

Al successful students will be issued with an EFAW certificate along with a wallet sized plastic card stating their achievement. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) stipulates that the course must be taken before the end of a three year period to be valid in the workplace. The HSE also strongly recommends that all First Aiders undertake a refresher course each year. Our online Refresher course meets this requirement.
